Royal wedding fever grips Newtownabbey
ROYAL Wedding fever has had Newtownabbey in its grip in recent weeks as celebrations to mark the marriage of HRH Prince William to Kate Middleton continued apace.
Across the borough, a variety of special events were organised to commemorate the hotly anticipated occasion with these reaching a crescendo and culminating on the Big Day itself - Friday, April 29, 2011.
Street parties took place at Queens Park estate, as well as in Monkstown Community Centre and at Abbey Presbyterian Church in Monkstown on Friday, where crowds gathered to watch the wedding unfold on big television screens before enjoying a bite of lunch and games.
