Seamus Heaneylaid to rest

THE world-renowned Seamus Heaney was laid to rest in Bellaghy on Monday.

Educated at St Columb’s College he was widely recognised as one of the greatest poets of the 20th century.

Though an Irish nationalist he freely met Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Dublin in 2011. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1995.
