Strabane road works postponed due to contractor issues
THE resurfacing of two Strabane roads that was supposed to start over a fortnight ago has been put back due to contractor resource issues.
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy said Roads Service officials are “working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and hope that both schemes can be re-programmed for the 2013/14 financial year.”
West Tyrone MLA Michaela Boyle asked the Minister about planned works to upgrade the Main Street and footways in Clady village.

Hide AdMr Kennedy said: “I understand that the scheme to which you are referring is the planned resurfacing of the Urney Road, Clady.
“Unfortunately, these works have been postponed due to contractor resource issues.
“This has also impacted on the planned resurfacing of the B72 Upper Strabane Road, Castlederg, which had been scheduled to start on Monday, March 11.”
