Strabane run on part-time basis

The Chief Executive of Strabane District Council is one of four local authority bosses in Northern Ireland employed on a temporary basis but the only one who is also on a part-time contract.

Daniel McSorley, the Interim Chief executive of Strabane District Council, is the only part-time and temporary Council boss.

Local Government Minister Alex Attwood revealed the four temporary bosses in response to an Assembly Query.

Mr Attwood stated: “The following councils employ Chief Executives on a temporary basis: Cookstown District Council; Down District Council; Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council; Strabane District Council.”

He added: “The Chief Executive of Strabane District Council is employed on a part-time contract.”
