Weekly run to take place along quay, bridge and park
A NEW weekly parkrun has been launched in Londonderry with ex-Derry City FC and Coleraine midfielder Tommy McCallion saying a stunning route along the marina, over the Peace Bridge and through St Columb’s Park has been prepared.
Tommy, now Community Health Manager with Derry City Council, said: “We have been working with parkrun for quite some time now to bring this free and timed weekly run to Derry.
“We have a stunning route that is popular amongst local runners and in the last 6 weeks we have seen the number of people attending the runs grow significantly. Each run is non competitive in nature, they are enjoyed by everyone from our best local athletes to people taking in their first ever 5k.”
