If the budget were managed fairly we would not have people reliant on food banks, increasing rates of homelessness and joblessness nor would we have people deciding whether to heat their home or feed their family.

UKIP believes the key to creating a successful, dynamic economy and a fair society lies in harnessing the ingenuity, resourcefulness and appetite for hard work of the British people. We believe in putting the people of the United Kingdom first.

Political party manifestos are usually filled with over-ambitious targets and pledges to special interest groups, UKIP is different, we have fully costed policies that have been independently assessed by the Centre for Economic and Business Research. Rather than adding a penny to our burgeoning national debt, cutting vital services or raising taxes, we will invest in our NHS, invest in mental health and dementia services, cut income tax for those on low and middle incomes, help small businesses, pay carers more, build more affordable homes, waive tuition fees for students taking a degree in STEM subjects and increase defence spending to two per cent of GDP.

We can do this by leaving the EU, making reasonable cuts to the foreign aid budget, ending health tourism, cutting the cost of government bureaucracy and ending wasteful spending.

The Institute of Fiscal Studies has said that Labour would have to borrow too much and the Conservatives would have to cut too much. The plethora of small Northern Ireland only based parties have not set out spending plans for the future of the UK, instead concentrating on cost of their support in a hung parliament. Their actions damage an already weakened union.

If you want to secure Northern Ireland’s place within the United Kingdom and build a free, prosperous, healthy, international future for the United Kingdom, if you want to ensure Foyle is no longer seen as an irrelevant political backwater and if you want to seize the opportunity for real change in our politics, rebalance power from large corporations and big government institutions then there is only on choice; Vote for Kyle Thompson Vote UKIP.

UKIP will raise the personal allowance to at least £13,000, raise the threshold for paying 40 per cent tax to £55,000 and introduce a new intermediate tax rate of 30 per cent on incomes ranging between £45,300 and £55,000, and abolish Inheritance Tax.

Bringing down taxes on working people at the bottom and middle ranges of the income scale is our priority, we believe that this is necessary to provide an incentive for those who get up in the morning and go to work, making work pay, taking those on minimum wage out of tax altogether and encouraging those who save to provide for their families future.

Leaving the EU would save the UK billions a year in net contributions. It will also allow us to end the practice of businesses paying tax in whichever EU country they wish and prevent large multinational companies from using aggressive tax avoidance schemes.

We would cut overseas aid while continuing to support the poorest people on earth through programmes that prioritise clean water and sanitation, vaccinations and disaster relief. Phasing it down from 0.7 per cent of GNI to 0.2 per cent saving billions each year.

We would cancel the HS2 vanity project, charge non UK HGV vehicles a Road User Levy and recovery millions from medical insurance that migrants and visitors ineligible for free NHS treatment would have to have before entering the UK. We would cut green subsidies and repeal the climate change act and large combustion plant directive in order to provide cheaper more reliable energy.

In addition to the tax cuts mentioned above we would abolish the bedroom tax and provide 20 per cent rate relief for small businesses with premises with a rateable value of up to £50,000. Restore the defence budget to 2 per cent of GDP, increase carers allowance to the level of job seekers allowance, waive tuition fees for students taking degrees in STEMM subjects and increase NHS and social care spending.
