Alan Day is the UKIP Representative for Mid Ulster. He is a self-employed business man, Husband and Father from Dungannon. Alan is District Secretary for Ballyronan District LOL No 7 and maintains the Orange Chronicle and Ulster-Scots online websites. A well-known local blogger and political commentator, Alan decided to get fully involved in politics and joined UKIP. Most recently, Alan stood for the party at the last local government elections in the Cookstown Area.

Commenting on his selection, Mr Day said:

“I and UKIP can bring a fresh approach, so different from the career politicians we have at present. I will give the ordinary people of Mid Ulster proper representation as part of a large UKIP Team in Westminster, something they currently lack with their abstentionist MP. UKIP is a party for everyone in this country. I will be putting the constituents at the heart of my work. People are fed up with the parties of old offering so much, and delivering so little. It is time for change. I believe I and UKIP can deliver it for people in Mid Ulster.”

Commenting on Alan’s selection, UKIP Leader in NI David McNarry said:

“People are beginning to realise that UKIP is the only party that is standing up for ordinary men and women. UKIP is a national party with a voice right across the United Kingdom, and it is standing up for people from all sorts of backgrounds throughout the country. Alan is from Mid Ulster, he understands the needs of local people and he isn’t afraid of asking the tough questions to stand up for his local community. Ukip can offer the change that people are calling out for.”
