Ulster Bank backs Armoy and Mosside businesses and helps create five new jobs

ULSTER Bank's commitment to supporting small firms in rural communities has led to the recent creation of two new businesses and five new jobs in the Armoy/Mosside area.

An investment in a veterinary supply facility at the new livestock mart in the town is creating two new sales and administrative posts.

This follows a recent investment that Ulster Bank is also providing finance for in the new Dry Arch Pharmacy, located at 122 Ballinrea Road which has brought new jobs to the area.

The new Glens Farm Supplies retail unit in the livestock mart has been supported by Ulster Bank via the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) scheme for small companies.

Ulster Bank’s head of business banking in Northern Ireland, Henry Elvin, says that the bank is strongly committed to rural communities and to supporting small firms across Northern Ireland.

“We announced a fund of 300m earlier this year specifically for small and medium-sized (SME) businesses and we are pleased that two Armoy/Mosside firms have been amongst those to benefit recently from this,” he says.

Ulster Bank’s Leona McNicholl, who facilitated both deals on behalf of the bank, added, “We have provided a significant amount of funding to the farming and health sector this year, and are pleased to have been able to help bring the new Glens Farm Supplies shop to Armoy, which will be an important local facility for agricultural businesses”.

“The Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme is one way in which we have been able to support small firms at a time when other banks are less willing to back SMEs. We also have a range of other facilities available, including our Small Business Loans and lending through the European Investment Bank scheme,” Leona adds.

Glens Farm Supplies is a Cushendall-based firm, owned by Eamon Gillan and James Delargy, experts in their field who specialise in providing quality farming and veterinary products at competitive rates.
