Ulster Scots Centre host exciting history workshops

THE Ulster Scots Centre in Coleraine is hosting a series of history talks.

‘The Titanic Story’ will be told over three classes, starting this Thursday, October 21.

George Dallas will use passenger lists, old newspapers and model ships to explore the building of the ship and the stories of the passengers, in what promises to be a fascinating series of talks.

In November the theme changes to the first World War.

There will be a local angle to the workshops as those in attendance will hear about the local volunteers and the conditions of the time.

The final series of workshops will look at emigration.

Starting on Thursday, November 25, a workshop will explore emigration from the Bann Valley in 1718.

The workshops have been funded by Coleraine Rural and Urban Network and will all take place at the Ulster Scots Resource Centre at 3A Union Street in Coleraine.
