Ulster Unionist Party unveils council election candidates

Lagan Valley Ulster Unionists have unveiled their slate of candidates for the upcoming council elections in May 2014.

For the new Lisburn/Castlereagh Council the following candidates have been selected to contest the Lisburn area. Alexander Redpath (Culcavy), Jim Dillon (Culcavy), Brian Bloomfield (Lisburn North), Ronnie Crawford (Lisburn North), Tim Mitchell (Lisburn South), Roy Hanna (Killultagh), James Baird (Boardmills) and Alex Swan (Boardmills).

The Dromore area of Lagan Valley has also selected candidates for seats on Armagh/Banbridge/Craigavon Council, namely Olive Mercer (Banbridge) and Carol Black (Lagan River).

On the election local council candidate and UUP Party Officer Alexander Redpath commented: “The Ulster Unionist Party in Lagan Valley has put forward a tremendous slate of candidates. There is a great mix of youth and experience with six incumbent councillors and four new faces. I am particularly honoured to be selected to contest the new DEA of Culcavy which covers the Moira, Hillsborough, Culcavy and Maze areas.”
