Uncertain future for Ballymena's RAF Association

SIR- I am writing regarding the uncertain future of the Royal Air Forces Association Ballymena Branch.

Unfortunately due to declining membership, it now seems possible that unless we can manage to reverse the situation that the Branch may be faced with closure.

This is really quite sad, particularly as there is a small core of active members who still work extremely hard to support the aims of the Association in terms of comradeship, fund raising and welfare delivery.

The Branch Annual General meeting will take place on Tuesday February 2, at 8.00pm in the United Services Club, Trostand Avenue, Ballymena, and we are urgently seeking those living in and around the Ballymena or Antrim catchment areas, who have either served in the Royal Air Force to become ordinary members, and those who have not served but wish to support the Association and the Royal Air Force, to become Associate members. Anyone who may be interested and wishes to attend this meeting will be made most welcome.

Further Information on the work and aims of the association can be obtained from our regional headquarters on 028 90325718 or by email to [email protected].

Yours faithfully

Mr J Davies
