Uni students to put on Foyle Hospice drama show

DRAMA students at Magee University in Londonderry will be putting on a ‘community performance’ at Foyle Hospice for patients to enjoy, as well as a ‘tea-party’.

Londonderry student Rachel Lynch will be one of a group of five University of Ulster performers at the tea party and drama event to be held at the Foyle Hospice on Thursday (May 24), at 12.45pm.

She said: “There will be five uni students who are doing a performance tomorrow at the Foyle Hospice. We will have a marquee and tea and things like that for the patients. We are actually doing it as a part of one of our modules for the degree from the University of Ulster. We are all studying drama, and one of the things we are required to do is a ‘community performance.’ So we thought, what better way is there to celebrate the work being done at Foyle Hospice than by holding our community performance there.

“We chose Foyle Hospice because of the great work being done over there. It is maybe not celebrated the way it should be.”
