Unicef Table Quiz success at Bushfoot

BUSHFOOT Golf Club in Portballintrae, was the venue for an enjoyable table quiz which raised £310 for the work of the United Nations Children’s Fund.

The quiz was organised by Ian Coulter and the questions presented a stiff challenge to those taking part. The winning team was the Care Bears, with Harbour Lights second and the Bank Robbers third.

Mrs. Margaret Binnie, Chairman of the Coleraine and District Branch of Unicef, welcomed those present and spoke briefly of the organisation, which works in more than 190 countries throughout the world.

Over the years it has led and inspired so much change for children, saving lives and delivering medicines, food and clean water, education and child protection.

Mrs. Binnie thanked Ian Coulter for organising the table quiz so efficiently and supplying the prizes. By giving of his time and expertise so generously to raise funds for various charities, he had helped many people to find a better quality of life.

She also thanked the scorer, Kerrie Laverty, the Council and members of Bushfoot Golf Club for the use of their comfortable premises, the members of the Unicef branch and Carson Glass for the raffle prizes and all who had taken part and contributed to the success of the evening.
