In its response to an Equality Impact Assessment, the District stressed its belief that the Union Flag should fly permanently on Parliament Buildings.

It also believes the flag should be flown under the same conditions on all Departmental headquarters, local council administrative centres, and any other relevant public buildings of important standing.

And it felt the Irish Tricolor “should not be considered for flying”.
