Union flag taken from Orange hall in Maghera and ripped up

Damage caused at an Orange hall near Maghera is being treated by police as a sectarian hate crime.

Constable Shona Holmes, of the Maghera Neighbourhood Policing Team, said that a report had been received of an incident at Killygullib Orange Hall in the early hours of Sunday, September 7.

She added: “The information we have is that a Union Flag was taken down from the building and ripped up.

“Two vehicles with a number of people on board them were seen in the area at about 2am and we are keen to learn more about them.”
