Local DUP Councillors and Upper Bann MP David Simpson say they are delighted with their “achievement within Council to see Union Street derelict properties regenerated over the next month”.

This comes about, they said, as a direct result of the legacy funding which the party have lobbied to channel towards tackling dereliction within the Borough.

Cllr Carla Lockhart said, “This is something that I personally have pushed to get over the line and am delighted that within Lurgan, Union Street features heavily in tackling dereliction. These buildings have been eyesores for many years and I believe it will help transform the area which will aid further investment.”

Mr Simpson said, “This is a good news story for Lurgan and I am delighted that Council are continuing to help create a catalyst for town centre regeneration and further investment.

“It will included painting, hoarding and creative ways of making an area more attractive to the public.”
