Untagged calf ‘put to sleep’ after being hit by car in middle of a Cookstown road

Policing are appealing for help to find the owner of a calf that wandered on to the Dungannon Road, Cookstown and was hit by a car last night.

The animal, which was said to be untagged, “had to be put to sleep by a vet” because of injuries it received in the accident.

The incident involved one car and the calf and took place around 8pm.

PSNI Cookstown said on its Facebook page: “This evening we attended a road traffic accident on the Dungannon Road, Cookstown involving a cow wandering and one vehicle.

“We are trying to identify the owner of the cow as there was no tag on the animal. Anyone with Any info please contact us with police reference number cc1004 15/11/15.

Motorists please drive with care as this could have been potentially more serious, especially due to poor road conditions and the speed of this road.”
