Update - missing man found after searches in Portadown

A 58-year-old man who went missing in Portadown twice in the space of two days was found alive and well tonight.

The police helicopter had been deployed this morning and police search dogs and members of the Community Rescue Service (CRS) were on the scene in Killicomaine this afternoon.

The missing man, 58-year-old William McConnell, had not been seen since last night (Sunday) after going missing for the second time in two days.

He had been discovered missing on Saturday before being found by a member of the community just off the Killicomaine Road on Saturday night.

He is described as being 5ft 4in tall, very slim build with blue eyes, grey beard and grey receding hair. William’s beard, hair and skin are covered in purple dye.

When last seen he was wearing a dark coloured mid-length outdoor coat, blue jeans, sandals with grey/black socks and was carrying a walking stick

Constable Healey said, “It is possible that William may try to make his way to Belfast. We are asking William or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact us in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 1243 200915.”
