Upgrade at playpark

Equipment at Whitehead playpark could soon be in line for a major upgrade, Carrick councillors have been told.

The development was included in a list of capital projects at last Monday night’s meeting of the Building Services Committee.

Tender process for the provision of the equipment had finished and All-Play, who were behind the state-of-the-art play facility at Marine Gardens, have been appointed.

It is expected the work will be completed by March 21 this year.

Meanwhile, members of the local authority are also awaiting quotations for the demolition of Whitehead toilets as part of their capital project schemes. It is expected this development will total £11,000.
