Upper Bann MLA delivers seasonal message

In a seasonal message to constituents Upper Bann MLA Jo-Anne Dobson said Christmas was all about family, friends and fellowship.

“Once again as Christmas approached,” she said, “ I had the privilege of joining with so many community and voluntary groups who are making a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.

“For far too many people times are extremely tough . . . People living and working in our community are facing the frightening reality of whether to eat or to heat. I know from spending time with food bank representatives, charities and churches that so much good work is being done to help those in the greatest of need.

“I have nothing but admiration for those involved - they are the unsung heroes in our community . . .

“ Christmas is an incredibly busy time for everyone, but no matter how busy our lives get we must never lose sight of God’s love, shown to us through Jesus, His promise of peace, hope and love for all.

“I ask people to spare a thought for the brave service women and men of Her Majesty’s forces who are helping to bring peace here and around the world . . Equally, at home, our emergency services, who work so hard throughout the Christmas period, are also in my thoughts and prayers.

“ My Ulster Unionist colleagues and my family join me in wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
