Upper Bann MLAs' voting figures revealed

THE VOTING records of our MLAs were revealed this week and the results reveal Upper Bann Assembly Members, on average, have some of the better attendance figures.

Sinn Fein’s John O’Dowd came top of the class with 90 per cent attendance at Assembly votes, followed by Dolores Kelly of the SDLP with 83 per cent.

Stephen Moutray had a respectable 77 per cent, while his fellow DUP member, David Simpson, showed up for 63 per cent of Assembly votes. Sam Gardiner of the UUP had a 63 per cent attendance, also.

The Upper Bann MLA with the worst score was the UUP’s George Savage, with 47 per cent.

But Mr Savage still attended more than former PUP leader, Dawn Purvis, who was recorded as showing up for only 23 per cent of votes, and UUP Health Minister, Michael McGimpsey, who had 24 per cent attendance.

Those with the best attendance in the Assembly include Peter Weir and Jimmy Spratt of the DUP and Patsy McGlone of the SDLP, all having attended 97 per cent of votes.
