Organised by the Causeway Association of Urban Sports (CAUS) the event gave visitors the chance to take part in various urban activities.

The loading bay at the shopping centre was transformed for the day to make way for a skate park, climbing wall and cage football.

Sharne Hawkins, Chairperson of CAUS said that they are hoping to hold more events in the future: “The event was a huge success - we expanded our event to attract people from all sections of the community, not just skaters.

“We had brilliant feedback and hope to hold more events in the near future.”

Sharne added CAUS were hoping to work with Coleraine Borough Council and other agencies, in a bid to secure funding for a permanent skate park.

Chris Currie from event sponsors ‘Woodie’s, added: “This event was brilliant for bringing skaters together and giving them a place to skate. The atmosphere was so upbeat and positive and puts to bed the negative reputation local skaters have.”

CAUS wish to thank the following people who helped make the event such a success: Gwyneth McQuiston, the Diamond Centre’s manager, CP Hire, T13, Causeway Rural and Urban Network, Coleraine Borough Council, Woodies Surf Shop, St John’s Ambulance.
