US folk rocker with Ardboe links remembered by RTE

An American folk-rocker who died just as his star was rising is being celebrated by RTE Radio for both his '˜adventurous voice' and links to Lough Neagh, this afternoon.

Richard Farina, whose mother Theresa Crozier was from Ardboe, is still remembered along the Loughshore.

Theresa left the Mid Ulster townland for the USA, where her son with a Cuban man, made his mark in the 1950s.

But Richard returned to visit first with his mother, and then on his own, when he would go out fishing with his cousins and uncles.
