USEL helps the disabled move into employment

ULSTER Supported Employment (USEL), is the largest employer of disabled people in Northern Ireland and is committed to providing the training and development needed to expand the choice of employment opportunities for people with health-related conditions and disabilities.

It provides supported paid employment to people with disabilities within its Belfast manufacturing base and supports over 1,200 disabled people in more than 600 companies to enter and sustain paid employment through their various employment programmes.

Jenny Johnstone is the Employment Services Manager and works closely with the disability sector to provide the necessary advice and guidance to allow participants to enter, progress or return to employment.

“We are finding an increasing number of disabled people are unaware of the help there is available to them” said Jenny.

“We provide a number of employment related services ranging from training and development support to financial assistance to accredited employment related qualifications, and we would encourage anyone with a disability or health condition to contact us and make use of our services.”
