Speaking on Friday, H District Commander, Chief Superintendent Raymond Murray revealed that the drugs seized have a street value of around £4,000.

He said that he believed the substances were ‘E’ tablets, cannabis and opiates.

However he said that the products were being tested by PSNI forensic teams.

£400 in cash was also seized by local officers and a number of mobile phones.

The police chief said that police were committed to enforcing drug legislation and tackling drug dealers in Coleraine.

He said that those dabbling in drugs were in effect playing ‘Russian roulette’.

“You don’t know exactly what you are ingesting into your body, where it was made or produced.

“It’s like putting a cartridge into a five barrel gun and firing it - you are playing Russian roulette, you are also committing a crime - drug use is illegal,” warned the Commander.
