Valentine's Day theme to meeting
A LARGE collection of Valentines and other tokens of affection were displayed at the February meeting of Glengormley Women's Institute.
The earliest Valentine on display dated back to 1840, and there were others that continued through the decades to the 1930s.
Several beautiful and fragile cards of paper and lace were included, as well as a rare nasty example bearing a very cruel message.
Members enjoyed using a Victorian Love Thermometer as was illustrated on two of the cards.
A warm welcome was extended to new member, Wendy Gregory.
