Valuing the contributions of eldery people
EAST Antrim MLA Ken Robinson has welcomed the International Day of Older Persons, which is due to take place tomorrow (Friday).
The UUP man said the event - which aims to raise awareness about issues affecting the elderly - is an opportunity to “bring to the fore those older people across the world who are ignored or marginalised”.
He added: “It is important that our society does not underestimate the continuing positive contributions of older generations, and we need to be aware of the growing menace of ageism in our own society.”
