Van linked to criminal activity sighted in Loughbrickland area

Suspicious activity in the area, has led police to remind the public to secure their property and report suspicious activity at the earliest opportunity.

The reminder follows a report of a suspicious van in the Loughbrickland area on Wednesday April 3. Police enquiries, following the report, revealed that the van had been connected to criminal activity in the South of Ireland.

Constable Magennis, Banbridge Response, said: “While no crime was detected in this instance, the report of this vehicle enabled us to make checks and inform the caller of the vehicle’s links to criminal activity. This has enabled the caller to protect his property and remain vigilant.

“This incident demonstrates the importance of reporting any suspicious incident to police at the earliest opportunity. Following the report we attempted to locate the van in the area but it had left the locality. We hope that our visible presence will help to deter any planned criminal activity and we will use this information to inform our patrol patterns.”
