Vandalism probed

POLICE are investigating several incidents of criminal damage which occurred over the course of the past fortnight.

On Friday, July 23 around 300 of damage was caused to the rear door of a property at St Quentin Avenue, while a bedroom window of a house at Carnhill Parade was smashed by youths throwing stones.

Shortly after 6am on Monday, July 26 it was reported that seven windows had been smashed at commercial premises in Mallusk Way.

In the early hours of July 28, police received reports of persons setting bins alight outside properties at Ashgrove Road. It is understood that flammable liquid was also poured over a parked vehicle. One individual was arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information about any of these incidents to contact them at Newtownabbey Station.
