Variety Concert

A LIMITED number of tickets are left for a Variety Concert in memory of well-known charity worker, former Sentinel columnist and City Council officier, Alistair Wilson.

The concert will take place in Lisnagelvin Primary School on Thursday night next, April 19, and has been organised by Sharon Wilson, sister of the late Mr Wilson.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Sperrin Room at Altnagelvin.

During the evening a raffle will be held, and among the top prizes are tickets for the Six Nations Rugby tournament next year, pairs of tickets for the Grand Opera House and vouchers for garden centres and beauty treatments from local businesses.

Thanking those who had already bought tickets for the event, Sharon Wilson said: “I want to say that I am so grateful to the staff at the Sperrin Room at Altnagelvin Hospital for the help, care and support they provided for Alistair. Alistair was always doing something for charity. He was always a very giving person, and was always available to support a worthy cause.”

Miss Wilson said she hoped to make £2,000 for the Sperrin Room in memory of her late brother.

Admission is by ticket only and tickets are priced at £6. Already 250 tickets have been sold for the event, leaving between 50 and 70 and, given the Bank Holiday weekend, those who would like to buy tickets can telephone 028 71346892. Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis.
