Vehicle seized

POLICE seized a car when they discovered it had no insurance cover following a collision on the Kilraughts Road, Ballymoney, on Monday of last week.

Using new powers, officers impounded the vehicle and according to Inspector David Anderson a fee has to be paid before it is released.

Inspector Anderson said: “This is a reminder to people that we now have the power seize vehicles in such circumstances. The driver could also face prosecution resulting in more financial penalties.”
