Vehicles destroyed in suspected arson attack

Police are investigating a possible arson attack which destroyed vehicles worth almost £45,000 in a haulage yard near Templepatrick.

Police and emergency services responded to a fire in the yard on the Carnanee Road - near Patterson’s Spade Mill - at around 11pm on Sunday night.

A Taylor transport trailer valued around £16,000, a Daimler bus valued at approximately £25,000, and an LVD Convoy, worth an estimated £3,500 were all completely destroyed by the fire.

The vehicles belonged to a Belfast bus tour operator.

The police have said that arson is one line of enquiry at this stage.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact investigating officers on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
