Veteran enjoys UUP success
UUP election agent May Steele was celebrating after all six candidates running in Carrickfergus and Larne were elected to the new authority.
With the emphasis on youth, the party took two seats apiece in Knockagh and Larne Lough, and one each in Carrick Castle and Coast Road.
May commented: “We had six out of six candidates and two of them topped the poll. Four of this six are in their twenties. It is a young team that we have put in.
“For an old hand like myself it was just a great time. I would like to thank all the people who voted for us.”
