Veteran's medal was sent by post
LAST week in an article on a local man being honoured by the Malaysian King and Government for his contribution to the country's freedom of independence suggested that the medal presentation took place Ballymena.
The information was accepted by the Times in good faith, but Mr. Walker now says that some of the facts were incorrect due to a misunderstanding and that there was no medal presentation in the Province.
The medal was actually sent to Mr. Walker by Mr. John Simcock of the National Malaysian Borneo Veterans Association. Mr. Simcock is not secretary as indicated to the Times.
Mr. Walker has apologised to the NMBVA for any inconveince caused and streses that the fault does not lie with the Ballymoney Times.
