Viable explosive device uncovered in Lurgan security alert

A number of homes were evacuated as ATO were tasked to the report of a suspicious object in the area.

A police spokesman said: “A viable explosive type device has been taken away for further examination.

“It is now safe for all evacuated residents to return to their homes.

“The device was found while police investigating serious crime were conducting a planned search of a property. The search of this property will now continue.”
