The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Cllr Paul Reid, joined club members and guests at the preview evening in Carrickfergus Museum and Civic Centre.
Mr Reid said: “It gives me great pleasure to attend events like this and to have the opportunity to appreciate the wealth of talent we have here locally.

“Carrickfergus Art Club is a well-established organisation, operating for more than 40 years now, where artists from the local and surrounding areas can meet to paint, draw and learn new skills.

“As a very active club, supportive of its members, the club often has demonstrations from professional artists and DVD nights as well as their own library.

“It is a true skill to be able to capture scenes and subjects so vibrantly and with such detail with a simple box of colours and a brush.
“I would like to commend everyone who has contributed to the exhibition. It is artists like yourselves who contribute to the rich cultural landscape within our borough.
“I would like to wish the club all the best in their future endeavours and on behalf of council, we look forward to welcoming you back again next year.”
