Victim Support NI call for volunteers in Ballymena

Victim Support NI is to hold a volunteer information session on Monday, February 1 aimed at recruiting volunteers in the Ballymena area.

The charity, which helps victims of crime in communities and courts throughout Northern Ireland, said more volunteers are required to deliver their crucial support services.

The volunteer information session will take place at the Victim Support NI office at 124 Broughshane Street, Ballymena, from 2pm on Monday, February 1.

Victim Support NI Volunteer Manager, Colm Keenan, said: “Volunteers are the bedrock of Victim Support NI selflessly giving up their time and using their expertise to help victims cope with the impact of crime.

“This can include providing emotional support and practical help to people in the aftermath of crime, form-filling or supporting victims and witnesses ahead of, and during, court to give them the confidence to make their voices heard.

“We offer excellent accredited training and development opportunities for volunteers equipping them with knowledge and skills to deliver a first class support service to victims. As well as being great experience, it’s also a fantastic way to work as part of a caring and compassionate team while helping people in your local community.

“Currently we require more volunteers in the Ballymena area to provide support to people in court and in the local community. If you have an interest in this type of role please come along to our event on Monday, email [email protected] or call me on 02890277778.”
