Victoria Road scheme

STREET lighting and resurfacing works began on Monday, on the A5 Victoria Road, from Craigavon Bridge to Prehen.

The works will be ongoing for twelve weeks and the scheme will cost in the region of 400k.

The first phase of the works will involve the installation of a new street lighting system.

The second phase will start at the beginning of April and will involve resurfacing the carriageway and the provision of new footways and drainage. It is also proposed to widen the road providing two lanes on the section approaching Craigavon Bridge.

The road works will be managed to minimise any inconvenience to the public and it is hoped that for most of the duration of the work two-way traffic flows will be maintained. However some delays are inevitable particularly in the early street lighting phase of the works and when the final surface is being laid.

Roads Service would ask road users to be patient throughout the duration of the works.
