Posting on her Facebook, Shauna expressed her delight: “So Excited to be bringing my own show to Keep it Country TV. Really hope you can all tune in when it launches in May.”

And this all comes after the release of her latest upbeat Cajun-tinged single ‘Down At The Twist And Shout’.

2016 is proving to be a landmark year for this talented performer, following on from the well deserved success of her last single ‘Blue Jean Country Queen’ released November 2015.

‘Down At The Twist And Shout’ comes from the songbook of multi-award winning American Singer/Songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter. She included ‘Down At The Twist And Shout’ on an album she recorded in 1990, entitled ‘Shooting Straight In the Dark’.

The album went to number 11 on the Billboard Country Album Chart.

In this wonderful Louisiana-themed song Mary Chapin Carpenter brings to life the essence of the south: iconic place names like Lafayette and Baton Rouge; Highway 10; the delta; bayou streams; pungent aromas and hurricane season.

More important than all of this is the irresistible lure of the endless Cajun music that draws people southwards.

Finding a partner, dancing the two-step at the Twist and Shout and feasting on alligator stew and crawfish pie holds the tempting promise of curing the blues and ensuring the storms of life are washed away forever.

Influenced by a love of local music, throughout her young years Shauna was drawn to singing and performing. School concerts and plays expanded her musical interests and happily enabled her to perform on stage before her first live audiences.

This set the stage for her appearance as a contestant on Glor Tire in 2015, bringing her talent to a national audience. Singing is in her family genes, most notably her aunt Jolene was lead singer with ‘The Country Flavour’ in the 1970’s.

In March 2014 Shauna realized a long held ambition by releasing her first album entitled ‘In The Middle Of Love’.

The album release and subsequent single, coupled with her bubbly personality, quickly increased her profile, bringing invitations to perform extensively at shows, concerts and fundraising-

events.

‘Down At The Twist And Shout’ and her earlier single will be included on Shauna’s forthcoming album, which she is in the process of recording, to be released Autumn 2016. .

Shauna’s musical influences include; Tammy Wynette, Dixie Chicks and Miranda Lambert from the American scene and Philomena Begley, Susan McCann and Louise Morrissey on the Irish Country scene.

Shauna is delighted to announce that she’s been chosen to present her own Country Music Show on Sky Channel 389 and Freesat 516 beginning early May 2016. The weekly show entitled ‘Shauna’s Country’ will feature Irish and American videos plus occasional interviews.
