Promising to be a sing-along the family won’t soon forget, free shots of Sarsaparilla will be served at the “local watering hole” to help the audience get into the spirit of things.

The Times spoke to Dungannon native Laragh about the show.

“We want it to be a real sing-along Calamity Jane,” she said, “so come with your singing voices and join the Craic.”

Trained at Trinity Dublin as professional actor, Laragh has worked both on the stage and in short films across Ireland “before moving into drama facilitation”.

Having worked with Craic for eight years, she has also spent time with the Bardic in Donaghmore and has just finished a Masters degree.

Asked if Calamity Jane was her choice, she said: “The committee had been to see the show in Monaghan and had seen how well it went down with the crowd. They said literally from start to finish people were singing along.

“It’s the full musical, it’s a real night’s family entertainment,” she explained. “We’re going to be doing a matinee on the Sunday and evening shows from 8pm on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Calamity Jane will be playing at the Coalisland theatre from Thursday, October 15 until Sunday, October 18. Tickets are £10, concessions £5.
