Video: Driving instructor recalls ‘most impressive’ student
MAGHERAFELT driving instructor Pat Deehan, who has retired after 55 years, has taught thousands of people to drive over the years.
He told the MAIL that his ‘most impressive’ student was Kilrea man Jim Patterson who lost both legs and an arm when he was electrocuted.
Jim was still determined to pass his driving test and with Pat’s encouragement, he succeeded back in 1965 - despite being at the centre of a media storm.
