Although Mary is retiring, she won’t be staying away from the centre completely.

Mary started out as a volunteer and now in retirement her aim is to return to this role.

She said: “I will probably come back and just do voluntary work, I couldn’t stay away from the place. I will get to spend more time working with the dogs.”

Speaking about her time at the centre, she added: “It was very rewarding, you wouldn’t really call it
a job.

“It was great to find them all homes and great that if they weren’t homed they could stay here for the rest of their life. I have to admit, I wil miss it.”

“I would like to thank the public for all their support and for keepin their hard work, support and help over the years.”
