Queens Quay in Londonderry has been closed from Queens Quay roundabout to the Harbour Square roundabout due to a fire at the Mandarin Palace Chinese restaurant.

The PSNI have advised motorists are to avoid the area.

Up to eight fire appliances are at the scene of the fire fighting the blaze and fire crews are being brought in from other areas to assist.

Eyewitness reports say the flames have broken through the roof of the building.
