Crew were delighted even the sun decided to make an appearance after the event had to be cancelled just weeks ago because of severe weather conditions.

Eight teams took part in the fun day’s maiden raft race, with The Magherys scooping first place and winning the Jerome Crozier Memorial Shield.

A magic show, petting zoo, climbing wall and football tournament all kept the little ones entertained, while Catherine McAllister took home first prize for the Best Dressed Teddy competition.

A spokesman for the charity said: “It was great to see so many come out in support of Lough Neagh Rescue.

“As well as everyone who came out today, we would like to thank Mid Ulster council, each of our sponsors, the Battery Bar, local shops, all of our volunteers and Tobin Youth Group who donated the tables and chairs.

“Without support both locally and further afield we would not be able to save the lives we do.”
