Pupils attending Tullygrawley under the direction of their Headmaster RL Russell, responded to the natural world and agricultural year which they were familiar with.

Russell’s work attracted considerable interest at the time. In 1935 he published his book, The Child and His Pencil, and in 1936 his services to education were recognised by Queen’s University Belfast when they conferred on him an honorary Master of Arts degree.

This exhibition complements the seasonal toy exhibition ‘No Batteries Required’ also in the Exhibition Gallery, Mid-Antrim Museum at The Braid where admission to all exhibitions is free.
