Video: Keith Buchanan wins the DUP '˜battle' for final Mid Ulster seat
Pomeroy man Keith Buchanan picked up the final seat in the Mid Ulster constituency in the tenth count.
It was a close run affair with party colleague Ian McCrea, the sitting MLA, with only a few votes between them throughout the day.
“They said it couldn’t be done but we did it,” said a jubilant Mr Buchanan, after the count was announced in Ballymena tonight.
