VIDEO: Kells & Connor on the trail of Bruce
Exciting plans are in the pipeline that could see the twin villages of Kells and Connor become the final destination of a new Historical Tourism trail being proposed for the province.
Assemblyman for the area, Robin Swann has requested a meeting at Ministerial level to pursue the plan for the ‘Bruce Trail’ to be set up in 2015.
He said: “When I heard of the Ulster Historical Foundation’s plans to develop not just a trail, but also that their plans include a two day event that would see medieval battle re-enactments, mock villages and fairs, I contacted them to indicate the importance of basing the event in Kells and Connor, so we could expand on the work already commenced by the Community Improvement Association in its Heritage Trail.” For full story see next week’s Ballymena Times.
