Video: Major rescue operation at Davagh Forest outside Cookstown

A major emergency rescue was launched in Davagh Forest outside Cookstown on Sunday, to save a striken cyclist who had crashed on the bike trails.

Dozens of volunteers from the various rescue groups joined the PSNI, Coastguard, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service for the massive operation, which was a training exercise.

The PSNI’s Darryl Johnston said it was important that all the agencies can work together in an emergency rescue in such a remote area like Davagh, as well as reassure the public that there are procedures in place to deal with serious accidents if they happen.
