It is understood a fire caught hold in the Barrack Street property where his body was discovered, but Northern Fire and Rescue Service said it was out by the time they arrived at noon.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said they are still working to determine the cause of death, but there has been speculation that it may have been either carbon monoxide poisoning or smoke inhalation.

“My deepest sympathies go to the family,” she said.

“Adrian was a good fella and it’s an awful, terrible thing to happen in the community - that a young man like Adrian would be lost. He has a big family and I am sure they will be absolutely devastated.”
