VIDEO SLIDESHOW: Parents join the fun at Larne YMCA

Larne YMCA’s youth club had many new faces recently as parents came along to join in the usual nightly activities.

Organised by Leanne Doherty and Darren McDonagh and funded by Live Unltd, the packed programme included a family portrait competition, parents’ dart competition, pool competition and a football skills session facilitated by Larne Borough Council’s sports development officer Colin Roden followed by supper.

Joint organiser Leanne Doherty commented: “We wanted to show parents just what their young people do when they are at the youth club and what better way to do that than get them to participate and participate they did. The building has been buzzing all night and

everyone has had a great time, trying different activities together and generally having fun.

Thanks to all those parents who have given up their evening to come along. It has been great to see them and to get to know them a bit better.”

Larne YMCA youth club operates four nights per week for children and young people from primary three upwards. Details of session times and age groups can be found on the website www.larneymca.com or by contacting Dean Nutt on 2827 9331
